“George & Martha: A Love Story”

February 11, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Newtown Historic Association presents
“George & Martha: A Love Story”

This show features the couple in their mid-life between the years 1770 and 1783, encompassing the events leading up to, the start and the finish of the Revolutionary War. During this period, they were often separated and George was unable to spend much time at home once the war began. Martha joined him almost every winter in camp so that they could be near one another, and so she could provide the solace, support and warmth he needed to maintain his morale.

Professional storyteller, Sam Davis, has brought George Washington to life at many historic sites, organizations, and schools. As a first-person interpreter, he continues to enlighten and entertain audiences of all ages with his vast knowledge of George Washington.

Professional storyteller, Alisa Dupuy, portrays numerous ladies from history that have shaped our world. Alisa performs all over New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland for historical societies, libraries, bed and breakfasts, book clubs, social clubs, church fundraisers and schools.

Tickets are $25.00 per person. Purchase using our secure online form, below. Or, send a check payable to Newtown Historic Assn. P. O. Box 303, Newtown, PA 18940. Complimentary wine and cherry desserts will be served after the program.
