General Meeting (via Zoom)

April 19, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Arnold Brothers Post Cards

Brothers Charles and Newton Arnold were photographers and printers in the early 1900’s. They lived in Rushland, had a print shop and took pictures and published their cards from the 1890’s to around 1915. They published 239 postcards picturing buildings and landmarks in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. J. D. Malone has written about them in the Bucks County Courier Times. Carl LaVo has also written about the pictoral treasure of Bucks County left by them. And some of the Arnold brother’s well-known postcards are pictured on the Newtown Historic Association’s recent puzzle.

Local author Chase Palmer will be speaking about the Arnold Brothers and his new book, Postcards of Bucks County, PA 2020. The book, which was released last fall, includes all of the postcards along with a history of each site and what the sites looked like in 2020. Also included is a substantial introduction about the brothers and their business.

Chase Palmer is a native of Richboro and an avid Bucks County history fan. He went to Council Rock North, and has recently completed his masters in City and Regional Planning.

This even is being held virtually on ZOOM.
