The David Library of the American Revolution
The November meeting of the Newtown Historic Association will be held on Monday, November 20th at 7:30 PM at the Half Moon Inn, 105 Court Street, Newtown. Our speaker will be Katherine A. Ludwig, Head Librarian of The David Library of the American Revolution. She will speak on the Library collections, the Pennsylvania Archives, Revolutionary War Records, and Revolutionary Pension Records.
Kathie Ludwig was previously a public librarian in Vermont for many years, working primarily as the director of her community’s library. Since her move to Washington Crossing in 2001, she has worked at the David Library, where she manages reference services, acquisitions, and cataloging of the library’s collections.
The David Library of the American Revolution, located in Washington Crossing is a specialized research library dedicated to the study of American history circa 1750 to 1800. This library was founded in 1959 by Sol Feinstone, a businessman, philanthropist and collector of Americana. Mr. Feinstone donated to the Library his extensive collection of Revolutionary war manuscripts, and his 118 acre farm on which the library is located.
The public is invited and refreshments will be served. This will prove to be a very interesting and informative meeting. No Reservations Necessary – For further information call 215-968-3914.
